TRIVIA

Story Development took around four years to complete, and animation only took around one year. The short production schedule was due to the help of new efficiencies, such as video tests and computer-assisted layout and graphics.

A total of 125 artists were involved in making the film. Computer technology can be seen during the climactic scene where Basil faces Ratigan inside the gearworks of Big Ben. The 54 moving gears, winches, ratchets, beams, and pulleys were drawn by the computer, and created a unique background for the characters.
